Our board members are volunteers who are nominated and serve four-year terms. The fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30. 

Peter McCreedy, is the president of LLC and the Ecology Director at Chatflied School. He loves working with students of all ages in the Willows and the many surrounding outdoor classrooms. In his free time Peter likes to go camping, play hockey, and ride his bicycle. Peter and his wife Beth have two daughters, Lily an Evelyn, and live on a small farm where they like to swim in the pond, build forts, and grow food. Peter is also the Chair of the Lapeer Charter of the Flint River Coalition and enjoys partnering with numerous other local service organizations to help our community thrive. 



Karen Page, is vice president and recently became a volunteer land steward for the Tibbits Nature Sanctuary and Land Stewardship Center. Her Back Track To Nature programs help the conservancy with their mission to support environmental education programs throughout Lapeer County. 

Karen completed her Masters of Education in Technology and Bachelor of Science in Elementary Teaching at University of Michigan Flint. She is passionate about teaching nature activities to people of all ages to learn, enjoy and have fun outdoors. During her free time she can be found gardening, kayaking, and walking in the woods.

Robin Mallor, is secretary and has been a member of the LLC since it first began. She currently serves the organization as secretary. Robin is an RN at McLaren Lapeer Region. She and her husband manage Three Roods Farm, a Community Supported Agriculture, CSA homestead which abuts the Tibbits Nature Sanctuary in Columbiaville.  Robin is a beekeeper and yoga instructor.





Nicole Ferguson, is a trustee and the Head Park Naturalist for the Genesee County Parks and Recreations’ For-Mar Nature Preserve and Arboretum.  At For-Mar she provides leadership to staff and patrons of the park.  She is also responsible for creating and presenting environmental and outdoor education to all ages and skill levels.  Prior to working at For-Mar she worked for four years at the Genesee Intermediate School Districts; Ligon Outdoor Center as an Outdoor Education Facilitator where she was responsible for the creation of the Ligon Children’s Garden, along with garden, outdoor and nutrition education. 

Nicole completed her Masters of Education and teaching certificate at the University of Michigan-Flint.  She has a Bachelor degree in Environmental Biology and Zoology from Michigan State University and is trained in a variety of outdoor and environmental education curriculum such as Project Wet and Project Learning Tree and is a Curriculum trainer for Project Wild, Flying Wild and Wild about Early Learners.  During her free time she spends it with her two young children teaching them to love and appreciate the natural world.



Dyle Henning, is a trustee and currently a Lapeer County Commissioner and a partner in a centennial family farm. He retired as Lapeer County MSU Extension Director/4-H Youth Agent and continues to volunteer for 4-H.







Fred Townsend, is a trustee and graduated from U of M/Ann Arbor in 1961 with numerous courses in math, science, and engineering and retired from Ameritech as an engineer in 1994.  After retirement, he took natural history courses from Oakland University and U of M/Flint and has been an aviator for 45 years. He and his wife Alyce have traveled to Russia, enjoy camping in Alaska, Australia and all over the West. Together they canoe the Pine and Two-Hearted Rivers, travel to Colorado several times a year to visit their grandson and "snowbird" in the Everglades each winter. 

At the Sutherland Nature Sanctuary he has led numerous bird and frog hikes and performed bird and frog surveys for more than 20 years.  As a Sierra Club volunteer and environmentalist since 1970, Fred helped with trail maintenance at Pictured Rock National Lakeshore, performed Benthic sampling for the Flint River Watershed Coalition and removed invasive species at Sutherland and in Florida.
