Conservation Easements
We can provide conservation easements for preservation of private land. This is a legal agreement between landowner and LLC that permanently limits uses of the land in order to protect its conservation values. It allows landowners to continue to own and use their land, and also sell it or pass it on to heirs. When you decide to donate a conservation easement, you give up some of the rights associated with he land. For example, you might give up the right to build additional structures, while retaining the right to grow crops. Future owners also will be bound by the easement's terms. LLC is responsible for making sure the easements terms are followed and managed through stewardship of the easement. Conservation easements offer great flexibility with your property . An easement helps maintain habitats for endangered species, plant life and can provide forest and wetland restoration. An easement may apply to all or a portion
of your property, and need not require public access.

Taking Action: What You Can Do
The Conservancy is building a network of demonstration sites that will include wildlife habitat restoration projects, alternative lawns, backyard habitats, sustainable farming, and wetland restoration management. LLC supports other outreach and development projects by providing resource people, educational programs, project development grants, workdays and interns. The conservancy also provides speakers and programs for meetings, seminars, and conferences.
